Dan Schneider has filed a defamation lawsuit against the producers of the docuseries Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV. The special uncovered alleged abuse and misconduct at Nickelodeon, where Schneider was a creator and producer of popular shows. While the lawsuit acknowledges abuse by others at Nickelodeon, it defends Schneider’s reputation, stating he had no knowledge or involvement in such misconduct.
However, many former Nickelodeon writers, child stars, and crew members accuse Schneider of at least creating a hostile work environment and sexualizing child actors. He has even admitted to past mistakes and expressed regret for his behavior, but the new lawsuit claims that the docuseries falsely portrays Schneider as a child sexual abuser, damaging his reputation and legacy.
